Hide and Seek. A Fun Game To Play With The Young Kids In Your Life.
Hide and seek is a fun game that can be played with any number of kids. When we were young we used to have quite a lot of children in the neighborhood and hide n seek was always one of the games we played. It is an easy game for younger kids to learn and a fun game to play.
The Rules and The Play
Gather all the kids and decide who gets to be "IT" first. Mom and dad, it's probably best if you decide this. Determine where the home base is and decide how high "IT" should count to before looking for everyone. It could be 10, it could be 100 depending on the kids age level, but you decide. "IT" closes his/her eyes and counts to the agreed upon number while all the other kids go and hide.
I would suggest setting some basic rules on how far your kids can go to hide though. Just to keep things fair and the kids in sight and safe.
When "IT" reaches the agreed upon number they yell "Ready or not here I come" and start looking for everyone. The object is to find and tag everyone before they get to home base. Once they are tagged they are out. The last person tagged wins and the first person tagged becomes "IT" if you are going to keep playing.
If everyone gets to the home base three times without getting tagged, then whoever is "IT" can pick a new person to be "IT"
A Fun Variation to The Game
The game, using this variation is played basically the same way as above with one exception. You can set up a jail for tagged players. Your front porch or back patio could work well for this. Once someone is tagged they go to jail rather than being eliminated. Someone who has not been tagged yet can set everyone free by stepping on the jail before being tagged themselves.
